It's the sort of thing to do when you are young and adventurous. I've
been to some pretty rough places, but no where really poor like Sudan,
Bangladesh, or Afghanistan. There is little health support in those
places, even if you are relatively wealthy. Poor people just get sick
and die.

The ironic thing is just how happy the people can be!
