I have tried clams in all of these except for India and wouldn't trade
them for littlenecks or cherrystones here, but I like them raw with
cocktail sauce as I had two days ago.

Not for me. I just go to the store and have them steam them. Then
eat them right away with butter or freeze them and reheat them.

Very bland, in general, to my taste. And, as you point out, I never
understood why they could be surrounded by all the others (and have
quite good versions of them in the Phils) yet have such crappy local
cuisine. Very strange. |
