Depends on the islands, I would give the tourist traps a miss and stay at less
popular but much more friendly places. If you can handle a couple of ferry
trips go to places like Ikaria, Patmos, Samos, Skiathos or Skopelos if you
want cooler weather in June. September is a good time except that it tends to
get a little windier and the worst of the tourists have departed, so not
everything is running at full speed.
June is gorgeous on the islands that are fairly green, but September has all
the fruits and nuts.
