if you are looking for greek monuments. then Turkey is yr destination
the best preserved greek monuments are either in Italy or Turkey
Besides Turkey offers a lot of monuments of toher civilizations. roman
frygian and so on.
you can hire a car in Turkey at a very reasonable rate
and life is for sure cheaper in turkey then in greece. the sea will surely
be better
I hired a car and made about 5.000 kms in Turkey from Ankara down to the
Syrian border
and up again. Ephesus is very well preserved.. but every few kms there is a
greek or roman town.
Have a look at Nemrut Dag or Pamukkale with Hieropolis.. and you will fall
in love with Turkey
