I transfer money internationally at fairly frequent intervals and the only
one I have found that makes no charges is moving money between my own
accounts in different HSBC branches.

I always get an advice of payment when I get an international money transfer
and my supplier always get one when I pay them, so that is one piece of
correspondence that will be generated. There may be others I am not aware
of.

The bank has changed though. In 2006, ABN Amro was an independent bank. In
2007, it was taken over and the Dutch operations are now run by Fortis,
although they have kept the name.

There are no charges or charges are waived on personal banking accounts? It
would make a difference..

Fortis works quite closely with HSBC, so they may have agreed a similar
arrangement.
