I would say a clear yes. I'm not sure if the Eltz-castle is a "must". I'ts
interesting, but only if you pass through anyway. I would not plan a full
day for it, if your schedule is tight (the museum and the castle can be
done in 2 or 3 hours). From Cologne (Koeln) it's about 2 hours away.

Same goes for Rothenburg - nice scenery, but half a day to one day should
be enough (if time is limited) - save the time for Berlin, Cologne and
Munich.

In each of these cities you should spend at least two, better three days.

In Munich consider going to the "Deutsches Museum":

In Cologne you should go on a round-trip on the Rhine with a tour-boat, if
the weather is nice. You can get tickets right at the river near the
Cathedral:

No need to book in advance for the normal round-trips.
