Sorry about that. I'll snip from now on.

Check the scale on your maps... <

ok, you guys are right. I came up with the idea that they were
similar in size by having Google maps calculate the driving time from
Koeln to Muenich, and from Muenich to Berlin, and it comes up with the
figure of around 5 or 5 and 1/2 hours. It takes about 6 hours to get
from upstate NY where we live to New York City. However I admit that
Germany is a much bigger area because it isn't funny shaped like NYS
and none of the places I looked at going to are in the far north.
Oh and I do know that Germany has the third largest economy in the
world, and is far ahead of NY in population, culture and just about
anything you want to measure... No offense intended. I was only
thinking about size in context of driving distances between the places
we wanted to visit.

high to use parking garages and may also be too long or wide to use
places on the street or in parking lots especially in major cities.
Suitable parking places probably won't be signposted. Inquire with
the rental agency if their vans will have such problems. <

Yikes!

One rental vehicle I was looking at was the Citroen C5 Estate 1.6
HDI , which they are calling a wagon. I don't think it is very high,
but it might be longish.
