I wonder how much different Germany is from the rest of Europe?
I don't really like giant monuments in general but very few
Germans are left alive whose votes or actions influenced the war
or the rise of Hitler. It is important not to forget the
atrocities of which people are capable. Nations do tend to avoid
discussing past shame, witness Austria maintaining that it was
"Hitler's first victim" and French with Vichy.
