pls note that the train station of Assisi is called

Santa maria degli Angeli
from there there is a bus connection that in a few minutes will take you to
Asssisi

Santa maria degli Angeli is also a beautiful church

One day in Assisi is very little.
It is a medioeval town and the film Romeo and Juliet of Zeffirelli was
filmed in this town
there is also a roman underground town with museum. Not much but interesting
