I think that Swabians are genuinely friendly, not superficially
friendly. It's more that they are reserved, and many relationships
are conducted in a more formal manner. My wife often refers to people
she knows quite well for many years and is friends with as Frau ......
or Herr ......... It has nothing to do with genuine friendliness.
But I hate to see people in a travel discussion group talk about how
nice and friendly the Bavarians are, when they are really refering to
the people in Baden-Wuerttemberg, having never set foot in Bavaria!!!!
