On further investigation, it appears that the couple had paid Thomson,
the British tour-operator concerned, for a programme of activities. To
arrive at the place, only to discover that the tour-manager and the
rest of the guests only spoke German and that the activities were only
written in German, would be something of a let-down to say the least.
In other words, the guy wasn't getting what he'd paid for.
The fact that most people who inhabit this newsgroup are independent
travellers who choose to make their own arrangements is beside the
point.
