Was this recently?
The reason I ask is that when I enquired several years ago about a
flex account, I was told that to get a debit card I would have to
have the flex account as my primary bank account with regular
payments going in. I didn't want to switch accounts so I just applied
for their credit card which was better than nothing.
Then a year or so later I applied for a flex account just to see what
would happen, and they gave me a debit card, cheque book and
everything. I still don't make any regular payments or use it for
anything except ATM withdrawals abroad.
