The Falklands are correctly not shown on the EU map. They are not part
of the UK proper, but an "Overseas Territory", so they do not
automatically become EU territory just because the UK is. The
relationship of the member states' overseas territories towards the EU
varies. Some are officially part of the EU, but some are not. All of
the UK's overseas territories are not in the EU, except Gibraltar.
France has a different policy, it made about half of its overseas
territories officially part of the EU which is why those are shown on
the map. But some other French territories are not in the EU and
therefore omitted from the map.
