We traveled in late August through early September 2005. We spent the
weeks before the trip anxiously monitoring water levels on the Danube,
since there had been substantial flooding in the region and some cruises
had been unable to pass under some bridges. River levels dropped to
passable levels by the time we got there but we experienced what we were
told was unseasonably warm weather. It might have bothered the locals,
but we found it great for touring.
