I'm sure you're right about that! At a Los Angeles Opera performance, I
oncer rode up in the elevator with a guy in torn jeans and flip-flops,
whom I assumed was some sort of maintenance worker - until he handed his
ticket to the usher! (However, some people DO still prefer to "dress
up" when attending such functions - not necessarily formal attire, but
something requiring more careful packing than a "carry-on" provides.) |
