No. I need to decide which to get.

I just need to charge a couple of AA batteries every day. If I need to
keep the laptop switched on for several hours just to charge the
batteries then it doesn't sound like a good idea.
I have no idea whether the USB port is supplying power when the
laptop is switched off, and I wouldn't know how to find out either.
