I don't have any expectations. I am not even Catholic. The play is not for
"enlightenment"; it is for a deeper meaning of respecting the Oberammergau
citizens' piety and faithfulness to an oath made by their forefathers and
mothers. Not everything is started or continued for a commercial basis. Some
Catholics consider it as a pilgrimage; others do not. BTW: the pilgrimage to
Santiago de Compostela is probably not known to your Catholic friends,
either. That doesn't make it any less important to those who do take part.
