You don't travel to the Middle East for the nightlife, but in the
countries that have it, it can be a good opportunity to have real
conversations with locals.

I've seen depressing smoky all-male local bars, tacky tourist
restaurant/bars with bellydancers, and backpacker dive bars which have
overpriced shisha pipes and warm beer. But there are better bars and
clubs in a few of the cities in the Middle East if you know where to go
or if you meet locals who can show you around.
