I'm a new vacation rental owner in Costa Rica. (My condo is at
http://casaarena.com) I had trouble finding a rentals listing site
that I liked: specifically one that showcases my property and doesn't
cost a dime. So eventually I built my own. I made sure that each
listing includes all the basic information plus a photo slideshow, the
possibility to include a video tour, lots of amenities information, and
space for the owner to fully express him or herself.
Being a generalist by nature, I generalized the site in a few
interesting ways:
location - listings are accepted from every country and over 500,000
towns are included. Each new listing will appear at the top of the home
page for maximum exposure, and will also appear on each page relevant
to the listing's city, state, country, or world region.
category - detailed listings are accepted for Vacation Rentals, Home
Exchange, Homes for Sale, Homes for Rent, and the very generic
"Anything Goes". Autos and other categories are coming soon.
international - listings may be entered in any language and any
currency. Also, the site can be translated into multiple languages,
and is already readable in spanish by spanish-speaking visitors.
The site is free for anyone to advertise on, and I intend to keep it
that way.
In just a couple months, the site has gained over 100 high quality
listings from all around the world (20+ in Costa Rica alone!) and the
feedback has been positive. I'd like to invite travellers to check out
the homes listed, and invite home-owners to promote your place for
free.
