The point is that it's a quad band phone- therefore designed to work
outside the US. I I would need to see more about the phone, but it looks
like it can operate as both a GSM and wifi device independently, much
like you can use both wifi and a gsm (or other) phone (via bluetooth) to
connect to the internet on a laptop. Whether or not people would ditch
their laptop for this, I don't know.
