I'm not sure where the money for ther Falkirk wheel came from, but its
quite a nice thing.
I think quite a lots been done as they were classified as a road
alternative, there are in fact a few wide ones with some potential,
one in London. But it seems cuts are being made.

Before you do, bear in mind narrowboats make progress below walking
speed and you usually have to go 15 miles to find a place to turn!

a lot of the waterways in city centres are probably gentrified, but of
course on a boat you also go through areas where our wonderful youth
like to throw rocks. About time we did something to break the cycle of
poor parenting/youth behavior, still, theres two less vandals now!
