I read your link and found it interesting (if opinionated, as you say).
I have no rebuttal, so I am monitoring this thread to hear from someone
who does. (note: I personally am utterly disinterested in flames, ad
hominems, rants or tantrums in response to the link.)
About the only criticism I can pose is that neither of the authors are
medical doctors, AFAICT. That criticism, however, does not address the
main point of their paper, which attacks the methodology of some health
studies condemning smoking.
The paper also brought up some questions: what motivated these men to
examine this issue? What methodologies did their research employ? Where
is the scientific/statistical response to their assertions? |
