I never heard of them. Our US Mastercard account is ran off a US
based brokerage account, one of the many free services US brokerage
accounts offer their clients. It is already "free". They have to
make their money somewhere.
In France a Visa Premier carte already costs us several hundred euros a year
for a yearly (combine for the 2 of us), I won't look a gift horse in the
mouth!
Next I don't run from service to service for little things.

We live in France!
Both our cards are essentially debit cards, the amounts owed are settled
once a month either from our bank account or brokerage account.
The American card issuers are into trying to get you to borrow money
at high interest rates. They don't want you to settle up at the end
of the month. This European "push" is for you to avoid debt and
the Europeans avoid debt. This is why the saving rates in the US
are "ziltch" and around 15% in France.
