Re: Many eminent scientists question Gore's "man made" global warming Posted on: Sat, 10 Mar 2007 10:06:48 -0600

Astronomers observe no fluctuations in solar energy other than
occaisional solar flares which have always been there, it is assumed.

The "greenhouse" theory to explain observed global warming was known in
the academic community in 1958

Now consider this: Atmosphere heavy enough to support life extends only
3.8 miles above sea level. The earth has an 8 thousand mile diameter.
Brethable air amounts to .0005 of the earths diameter.

We know coal fired energy plants, factory boilers and smelters, home
furnaces as well as various engines dump carbon dioxide and contaminates
into that thin air covering.

Now, consider this. A typical auto or mini-van uses a 3 ltr engine
running 2500 rpm on the highway. It takes in 1.5 ltr of air every
revolution. On a 50 mile trip taking 60 minutes 22500 ltrs of air are
consumed by the engine. Meantime, the forrests that created the oxygen
we burn have been cut down over much of the world.

There isn't a magic bullet either. Nuclear energy gives off little
atmospheric polution but dumps heated water. Solar panels are helpful
though not a solution. Wind power shows promise but won't meet the
needs of mankind without having a couple windmills every square mile.

Yes, Virginia, there are serious problems. Too bad Bush, AI PAC, and
Nancy Polosy have their heads in the middle east with an 8.3 trillion
national debt hanging over the US.
