Maniago is a little town but without turistic attractions.
Cortina is known worldwide and placed one of the most gorgeous
dolomitic valleys; this said, it's also very expensive. One suggestion
I can give you is to pop to Cortina and then continue through "passo
della Mauria" to go to Forni di Sopra. That's another nice mountain
spot, but waaaaay cheaper that Cortina. Form there the following day
you can continue north esat and pass the border at Passo Monte Croce
Carnico.
