The best commission-free option is not to use the things at all, and
use your ATM card to withdraw cash instead. In Belgium, this can be a
bit dodgier than elsewhere; some ATMs are for local client use only, but
there are plenty around that can be used by people from elsewhere.

Travellers' cheques are a relic of the 20th century.
