Was it a horrible experience? No.
Did I regret ever having gone there? No. It had friendly people,
good food, and some places of interest.
Was it disappointing in some ways? Yes. I found the Acropolis and
the other ruins I saw to be interesting, but there wasn't really a lot
there to see. I found the old quarter Plaka to be too touristy, and
the modern parts of the city mostly unattractive and dull.
Would I recommend that visitors to Greece see Athens quickly and then
move on to the many rewarding places elsewhere in Greece? Yes.
