That's true but I believe the USA has the highest rate of gun
violence in the known universe.

I'm bothered by the fact that this nation is so upset by this
incident when so many more people are killed in acts of random
violence in countries such as Iraq, Palestine, and Israel.

At least one US citizen has said that were there more guns in
circulation, the rate of gun violence would be lesser. Yeah, sure.

My reading of the Second Amendment does NOT give us individuals "the
right to keep and bear Arms":

***
Amendment II
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free
State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be
infringed.
***

Yet I recognize that there might be a civilian use for long guns but
the concealable hand gun is a weapon for use only on animals who
recognize what a gun is.

In the USA, it's easier to buy a gun, Mexican heroin, Columbian
cocaine, or domestic meth than a Cuban bottle of rum or cigar.

[I won't be participating further as, in a few hours, we'll begin a
trip that'll last 'til the first week in May.]
