For foreign transactions, it's worth checking around. I'm assuming
you're from the US? My partner has an account with Wainright Bank in
Boston (found on the internet) which doesn't charge extra for foreign
transactions, last he did it (a year or so ago, I admit). Check with
them to make sure they still have the policy, and if so, it might be
worth opening account. Maybe someone reading from the US knows of
another bank?
