I'd stay at the North Star Hotel again; stayed there in 2003
and the best breakfast I had in Eire. I read the latest
tripadvisor reports, maybe it has changed. I had a good
price via wotif.
I stayed in hotels in Dublin both times (avoid the Airport
Regency like the plague) but I used B&B's in the rest of
Eire in 2006 via http://www.goireland.com/ with mixed, but
usually good, results.
If your preference is B&B's I'd suggest using goireland to
find a shortlist and then tripadvisor to see if there are
any comments.
Use large grains of salt in reading the "descriptions" in
Irish hotel and B&B ads. Blarney is very much an Irish
landlord's tool:-)
Cheers, Alan, Australia
