I've never had a problem discussing politics anywhere in the world,
and unlike some here I've spent a lot of time in places like China,
the Middle East, and Latin America. The idea that he has to be afraid
to talk about politics in Germany is laughable.

Of course you shouldn't go spouting off about local issues if you
don't know what you're talking about, but as long as you're
knowledgeable and respectful you won't have a problem.
