How does someone without a ticket get out or a faulty ticket or deal
with a faulty barrier? you'd have to ensure that no-one could get
into the system without a ticket appropriate to the end of their
journey, but whatever you did you'd still end up having to have
someone in range of the barriers to deal with the faults - you can't
trap your customers in the station.
