Certainly parking is a bit thin on the ground but it is more safe than most
towns. I go every year before I catch the boat home from Zeebrugge and I
stay in the same little hotel, The Adornes. http://www.adornes.be/
It has free parking in an underground secure garage which you can reserve
when you book. They give you the code when you check in. I suppose only
people who have stayed there previously can steal your car. They also do a
nice breakfast as well.
The larger chain hotels have parking spaces but it tends to be a free for
all as to who gets one. You could ask the hotel you are staying at if they
do it.
Hope that helps.
