You don't need to worry about Budapest in terms of it being Eastern
European. It's not as rich as Vienna, but it's quite safe, and you
shouldn't need to worry about the apartment. Remember that they have
as much at risk from you being there as vice versa!

Of course you should email back asking how much the taxi ride is. Also
try to find some other references on the web.
