Thanks for that last comment. Everyone else assumed I wanted to
know how to ask for a beer, but I already knew that: Ein Bier, bitte.
My question involved whether "hätte gern" can be used with a verb
infinitive, and the answer is not always, I guess. "Ich möchte
" is the safe way.
