Hi Padraig!

I know Keith and a few others can probably give you more detailed responses.
I really enjoyed staying in Prenzlauerberg. I doubt you'd want to stay in
the semi-hostel I was in, but the neighborhood is less touristry that Mitte.
It still has a bit of the East German feel to it, which is changing fast.
Seems to house a bunch of "yuppie" types, so there are plenty of interesting
restaurants around (ethnic stuff), and it's a quick hop down to
Alexanderplatz on the U9 (I think 9, someone else probably knows) or
Friedrickstrasse.

Berlin is one of my favorite cities. Rent bicycles -- it's so easy to get
around that way (well, you are going in November, hmmmm). Don't forget to
drink the Berliner weissbier!
