There is very vocal "cars are evil" contingent here. Though to be fair,
your planned 4-day cross-border one-way rental *is* a very expensive
mode of transport.

I commute by public transport, so I know for a fact that you don't get
around just as well. Last Sunday I spent 3½ hours making a trip by bus
and train that a car could do in 80 minutes. And then I had to go back
again. And this wasn't between some obscure, middle of nowhere locations;
this was between central locations in the 2nd and 5th largest cities in
the country.
Public transport only wins on time if you're going from A to B, in a
scenario where A and B both are cities, and the train companies consider
A->B travel important. |
