I've used ATMs in London and Mexico with my US bank card
(neither debit nor credit). My bank did charge a fee but not
usually the British banks or, as I remember, the Mexican banks.
There is a nearby bank that says it will charge no ATM fees and
refund foreign bank charges.
You can find the amounts of charges at my bank quite easily but
no details of the justifications for the numbers.
