If only they are priced so the average American can afford
them! A couple of manufacturers tried to introduce electric
cars, but they only got about 100 miles per battery charge,
and cost as much as a Mercedes. (Needless to say, they did
not sell very well.) I fell in love with the little Smart
two-seaters, my first visit to Europe, and would have bought
one, had they been available here when I bought my Saturn.
The best car I ever owned was a 1978 Honda Civic hatchback
with "Hondamatic" transmission. (You had to shift gears
manually, but it was clutchless, and the shift lever was
similar to that for automatic transmission - clearly marked
"1, 2, 3", in line, no esoteric "pattern" to remember.)
