Damn, you got some shitty answers to this!

I wouldn't worry too much. I have an American friend who has been here
for years, and has come and gone back to the states a few times. And I
very, very much doubt the information you give the hotel would be
reconciled against your passport information. The Italian authorities
couldn't care less about anyone from a western country overstaying a
few weeks.

Just don't try leaving from Greece. Those guys can be real bastards.
