Trying to stay within the question what I would do is....fly to Pisa via
Delta, rent the car, return the car and train from Pisa (or Florence) to
Venice and using an open jaw booking return via Delta from Venice to JFK.
One of the great sights is the Grand Canal at the train station at Venice.
