Hmmm -- our preference is the opposite. We go for three weeks every year. We
spend the first two weeks driving around our regions of choice, and always spend
the last week in Paris. Paris seems very relaxing without the pressures of
wanting to drive to another town.
Doing so also means you spend the first night or two, while you're still
acclimating, in a quieter and cheaper city than Paris -- Lille, Dijon, etc.
And it means that you don't have long travel to gauge properly in making it to
CDG for a return flight at the end of your stay.
