Look at www.nationalexpress.co.uk for acceptable transport
at moderate cost.
Dover to London Victoria Coach Station is about GBP12.
As you are over 60 you can normally get half price,
if you are not travelling on a Friday or at certain other
peak times, or booking on the day of travel.
To see what hotels might be available at reasonable cost,
the site www.laterooms.co.uk. is helpful.

To some extent the following is true "You can travel in
the UK at whatever price level you choose"
