You have legitimate feelings, and they have nothing to do with
Argentina. Replace Argentina for Ireland, or France, or Germany, and
you will see that you would still be worried.
As any coountry you want to move to, the questions are:
1) Do you speak the language? Never mind an accent, in today's global
village some might make fun of it, but most will not care as long as
they can understand what you want to say.
2) Do you have skills that are in demand in that place? If you have a
PhD in Spanish, I am sorry to say that this will not get you very far
in Buenos Aires.
3) Are you legally authorized to work there? No matter how good your
credentials and your mastering of the local language, if you are not
entitled to work legally, this will be a problem.
Then, there are the questions about her boyfriend.
