My experience was 20 years ago. I found my Amazon adventure out of Iquitos,
Peru, to be relatively unspoiled by too many fellow tourists. I made
arrangements upon arriving in Iquitos with a local travel agent. I joined 8
other tourists from around the globe for our 1-week trip up the river and
felt like we were the first non-locals to visit the Amazon. No doubt things
