Technically it's not a visa, but Mexico does require a Tourist Card if
you're going to be south of the "Free Zone" for over 72 hours. The free zone
generally runs 21 kilometers south of the border, but it dips further south
in several places. Due to recent changes most of Sonora also does not
require a Tourist Card or a temporary import permit. Here's a good link:
