Check out Hotel Costa Verde in Quepos. Quepos is near Manual Antonio
National Park, so there is much to see.
You'll want to see some of the volcanoes too, i.e. Manuel Antonio.
I'd fly into Liberia and skip San Jose. Yes, rent a car. It is a small
country.
Stay away from the East Coast!
