Honduras is a great place to visit with a great deal of variety.
The Bay Islands (Roatan, Guanaja and Utila) which are English speaking
Honduras offer unsurpassed diving, and on Roatan, great beaches and
fishing.
The Mayan ruins in the town of Copan in western Honduras are beautiful
and some of the best preserved in the world. Its also a great little
colonial town.
Around La Ceiba, known as both the party capital of the country and its
eco-tourism capital, the Pico Bonito National Park boasts a five tier
cloud forest, lots of flora and fauna as well as spectacular
waterfalls, on the immediate east side of La Ceiba is the Rio Cangrejal
famous for class 3-5 whitewate rafting and just west of town the Cuero
and Salado Wildlife refuge.
If you are really adventurous the Moskitia area, the second largest
rainforest in the world foms Honduras' eastern border with Nicaragua.
Its a small country, very friendly people, lots to do and much, much
less expensive than Costa Rica.
