Seen your web page and it looks like you may be just the person that I
am looking for to help me figure out if Mexico is the place for me.
First off, what is a peso compared to a US dollar?
600 pesos a night sounds way high for me.
I do construction all over the USA, and am away from home for months at
a time.
Then I get off work and am off work for months at time, so I can live
anywhere I want.
I have been considering looking at Mexico as my off work home.
The only problem is that I really don't know anything about what to
expect there.
Most people say that I will just get mugged and then stuck in a Mexican
prison until someone pay's the ransom to get me out.
But they have never been in Mexico either, so I am uncomfortable about
there word.
I have been in Nogales and again just across from El Paso.
Nogales was great.
No problems there at all, though I did go with a friend and we did keep
each other in sight at all times.
The El Paso crossing was short, do to it just feeling unsafe.
I don't speak Spanish at all.
And I normally don't get into trouble, as I tend to try to just go have
some fun and not be a bother to anyone.
Any way, what I was thinking was to go there, get some teenager to be a
paid guide, and hopefully find me a girlfriend that would keep a house
for me while I am on the road and keep me when I get off job.
Live in one of the smaller non tourist villages where we could be left
alone to live in peace with someone that appreciates me.
>From what I hear, the economy there is way low, with a weekly wage
there being close to $25 US per week.
If so, then I could afford to make someone a pretty wealthy husband and
still have savings for my retirement, so that when I could no longer
work, we would not have to lower our standard of living.
So, any way, is this just a dumb dream?
