Believe what you want. Cancun is modern Mexico. Since most of Mexico
has been built since 1950, Cancun is actually more reflective of the
country than the sections that people like you seem to think is the
"real" Mexico. You say how wonderful Playa del Carmen is, ignoring the
crowding, dirt and noise in the tourist area, and the general squalor
of the residential areas on the other side of the highway.

Go play cowboys and Indians. You think that's Mexico. I hate to tell
you something, most Mexicans would disagree with you.
